Press down on your remote control to enter the Apps section, and then use the directional pad to find an app you're interested in. With that app highlighted, press the button in the center of the directional pad to select the app. With Get selected, press the button in the center of the directional pad. Wait for the download to complete to launch the app, or return to the Apps section later to use the app at any time.
If you've misplaced the remote for your Fire TV Stick, you can always use your phone as a remote control until you find it again. You'll have to install an app for it, but it's easy to install and use. If you don't see the app you're looking for in the App section of your Fire TV interface, you can use the search function to look for specific apps.
You can also use this function if you have a broader category of app that you're looking for. The other way to find and download apps for Fire TV devices is to use the Amazon website. This method is somewhat less convenient, because you have to use a computer instead of your Fire TV Stick.
However, it's also easier because you don't have to use the on-screen Fire TV keyboard to perform searches. You can either search the main website for the app or go directly to the store.
The latter is perhaps more efficient. As of now, Amazon devices only support Android apps. The good news is that if you have them on your phone, you can transfer them to your Fire TV device. Firstly, you have to install the app on your Fire TV device. After that, you can open the app to start downloading. There are two ways to install third-party apps with Downloader.
You can delete the APK file afterward. Wait for the download to finish and select Open to launch it. When you return to the home screen, you will find all of the apps you downloaded under the Recent section.
